Short version: WiFi Analyze does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Everything the app reads stays on your device.
What the app does
WiFi Analyze reads your device's WiFi state to display signal strength, nearby networks,
channel congestion, and connection details. It can save room-by-room signal readings and
speed/latency test results to help you optimize your home network.
Data collected
WiFi Analyze collects no personal data. Specifically:
No account or login is required.
No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are included.
No advertising SDKs are included.
No data is sent to any server operated by the developer.
Data stored on your device
The app stores the following data locally on your device only, using
Android's Room database and DataStore:
Room-by-room signal readings you manually save (room name, signal strength, timestamp)
Speed test results (download/upload Mbps, timestamp, network name)
Latency test results (ping times, timestamp, network name)
App preferences (display mode, alert threshold, dark mode setting)
This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time via
Settings → Clear All Saved Rooms, or by uninstalling the app.
Permissions used
Precise Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) — Required by Android to scan for
nearby WiFi networks and read network names (SSIDs). Android ties WiFi scanning to the
location permission because nearby networks can indicate where you are. The app itself
never requests, reads, stores, or transmits your GPS coordinates, and uses the permission
for no other purpose.
Nearby Devices / WiFi State — Used to read your current WiFi connection
details (signal strength, channel, band, IP address).
Notifications — Optional. Used only to send signal-weakness alerts
you configure in Settings. No notifications are sent without your explicit opt-in.
Internet — Used only when you manually run a speed test or a latency
test. Not used at any other time.
Third-party services
The app makes external network requests only when you manually start one of these two tests:
Speed test — downloads and uploads meaningless filler data to
speed.cloudflare.com to measure
throughput. No personal data is included in the request. Cloudflare's own privacy policy
applies.
Latency test — sends ping requests to your own router's gateway address
and to Google's public DNS resolver at 8.8.8.8 to measure round-trip time. Google's own
privacy policy applies to the request that reaches 8.8.8.8.
The app makes no other network requests. Nothing is ever sent to a server operated by
the developer.
The "Buy Me a Pizza" button opens
buymeacoffee.com in your browser.
That site's own privacy policy applies if you choose to visit it.
Children's privacy
This app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
